Chocolate chip cookies? Something healthy? I dunno, but I don't want to get fancy with this or make a whole dinner I have no idea if they'd like, just something simple to say welcome (my sourdough starter needs feeding so no bread, at least today).

They have 3 & 7yro kids.

You are so kind! I think anything will be so well rec'd. Chocolate chip cookies and

if you really want to go all out... Rice Krispie treats would also be a hit for the children.
That is really nice of you....

I usually put together a basket with homemade jam, muffins or scones or something like that.

New Neighbors...

May I suggest NY Times Chocolate Chip Cookies? I made a double batch for my niece's college grad. party and they were gone before we knew it ! The three little neighbor girls kept asking their Mom for "just one more ? ". These are big and so tasty. I did throw in a cup of pecans 'cuz I don't I gotta have nuts in my CCC !

Lots of kids have allergies to nuts, so I'd make half the batch with out nuts

and let them know. They will be grateful they have moved into a home with a thoughtful neighbor next door!

I wish more folks were like you Maria! Our daughter has a nut allergy and when she was in grammar

school, she had a hard time when asking the moms who brought baked goods, if their goodie had nuts. So many times they asked her "why" and when she told them she was allergic, a few times she was told to stop being so picky! Luckily she understood at her tender age that nuts met a hospital trip her, and did not eat them. I had to go to the school as ask them to get wise about children and nut allergies. Albeit, this was over 35 years ago, when things like that were rare, but still.....

A friend has 2 kids severely allergic. Nuts have never ever touched my KA bowl I'm so careful.

Did you know there are drs treating that now though? They slowly introduce and monitor till they build up a resistance and rid them of the allergy. New med-tech, gotta love it.

I think so because there are walnut trees on her property and she has to be very careful when

harvest time comes. I think the one year she attempted to work with them, she wore gloves and a mask. I don't know if she still bothers with them.

No, I did not know that.....will let her know, just so she knows too. She has lived with it for so

long, I doubt she will do anything about it at this point....still good to know.
