I can NOT believe I won this book, I am so hyped. This will definately be the oldest cook book I own.

I can't wait to see the recipes, diagrams, and illustrations.

It was worth every penny!!

Up for auction is this great early printing of the world famous white house cookbook, 568 numbers pages. some of the pages are yellowing but still packed packed with wonderful old recipes and information! I found a delicious recipe for mincemeat pie that I was looking for in this book! Illustrations, This is just a really great very large ornate book- and it contains hundreds of miscellaneous recipes. A very few of the pages are loose and the front board is a bit as well. Still a very very rare find. do not miss your chance.

A Wonderful Addition to Anyone's Cook Book Collection!

 
Last year I donated this cook book to a museum in my home town of Eureka CA

It is fun to read. I got it from my step-mom, kept it for several years before donating.

 
Sorry, couldn't resist...just received this yesterday.

Toddler's Tea Party

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me and
my brother who is four years older than I am. I was maybe 1 and a
half years old and had just recovered from an accident in
which my arm had been broken among other injuries.

Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift
and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living
room engrossed in the evening news and my brother was
playing nearby in the living room when I brought Daddy a
little cup of 'tea', which was just water.

After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy

tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the

living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because

it was 'just the cutest thing!!'

My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the
hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink
it up, then says, 'Did it ever occur to you that the only place
that baby can reach to get water is the toilet??'

 
I know how it feels to win something you especially wanted on eBay!

I'm trying to be really good these days. Just got my credit card paid off! smileys/smile.gif PayPal loves me!

 
This is exciting--

The oldest cookbook I have is 1926, one that GE put out to persuade people that refrigerators were a good thing.
I really love the old recipes--some to make, some to marvel at.
