New use for an old friend

I am a fan of Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo. It is expensive so I buy a gallon (cheaper that way) at a time to refill my quart pump bottle. It is extremely thick. For just ages I have struggled with trying to refill the bottle- pumping takes too long, it will not go through a funnel, etc. so I used to have a terrible time and lost a lot along the way. Until.......I tried using my favorite old pastry tube with a big tip. HAH! It works perfectly and I can refill that bottle in just minutes. If any of you have the same sort of trouble refilling most anything thick and wet, try it! How bad can it be? You end up with a very clean, nice-smelling pastry tube smileys/smile.gif

Clever! Another trick with pastry bags is to use it to fill long manicotti pasta. A

friends was using a spoon and a knife to push the soft filling in...it was just painful to watch. I sent her several disposable bags when I got home.

Cathy, I've been meaning to thank you for the genius tip of slicing ACROSS the head of celery.

Since reading that, I haven't cut celery any other way...and I eat a lot more of it.

Thank you for sharing such a simple, but useful tip.

Marilyn, I thank YOU for the parchment paper tip every time I use it

scrunching up the parchment before lining baking sheets is genius too. I think those two tips- scrunching and also the cutting across the top of celery- are my favorites.

I tried a plastic bag first, Colleen- the shampoo oozes too much and needs guidance LOL
