In 2010, we took a Princess cruise that left Venice and sailed to several of the Greek islands plus a stop in Croatia, Athens and Olympia and turkey, to see Ephesus, then around Italy, stopping at Naples before ending at CittaVechia (Rome)
We went in late September/early October and the weather was great.

We are looking at it for next year too - probably a cruise but Marc in Seattle....
should be returning from several weeks in Turkey, Greece, and Italy this week I think and his pictures were wonderful. He will have some good recommendations.
