NFR: Anybody here from Washington

My wife and I are interested in moving to Wash. to retire. I am from BC so I know the weather. Is there any place in Wash. you would prefer to live or would recommend, that is not too far inland and has perhaps less rain.

Spokane is too cold for us and too far inland, since I like to fish.

An acquintance recommended Sequim, so we will fly up and take a look at that, but since we are there we might as well look at some other recommendations.

Thanks

I am not from WA, but familiar with Sequim. Due to it's location with the

Straits and the mountains it has a whole lot less rain than other places on the Peninsula.

There are several people here from Washington who will have lots of good advice.

Also, I have always liked the Westport area. might be a bit wet for you?

good luck,
Nan

We almost bought property in Sequim YEARS ago--- beautiful area but rural.

If you're a city girl, this could be a problem but the area is truly lovely.

There are lots of folks moving into Sequim...lovely area... and if you are interested

get in touch with the local politics by staying up there for a while and/or subscribing to the local newspaper. We have friends who stay up there three months in the summers in their RV and I think the local political climate was a negative for them. I will ask tonight and find out more....they are coming for dinner.

Vashon Island -- 20 minute ferry from West Seattle. Lovely place, quiet but

a community dedicated to food & sustainable practices. Lots of great people doing small farms, etc. Plus, easy access to the big city when you need a break.
