Here are a few suggestions for Barbados
Hope you have a great time. They are very friendly people, even if they do drive on the "wrong" side of the road at treacherous speeds. smileys/smile.gif A bit daunting as they have many "roundabouts" to navigate through.
We went in 2005, so I apologize if any of these restaurants no longer exist.
Oistins Fish Fry: Friday night is the fishfry, a local tradition, and the “happenin’ spot in town. Women at roadside stalls fry or grill many varieties of fish, including the their flying fish. All caught that same day.
The Restaurant at Southsea
south side of island, nice views and upscale dining
Just Grillin - on the South Coast across from Accra hotel. Simple, but good grilled burgers, chicken, fish and grilled vegetables
Mannie’s Suga Suga: beach bar at Mullin’s Beach. Decent food and drinks at very reasonable prices. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their menu has a lot of Bajan cuisine. Great spot to watch the sunset.
Olives Bar & Bistro: The chef uses local produce--Mediterranean and Caribbean cuisine. It's in a quaint old building in Holetown.
Calabaza: Great food and beautiful ocean views from cliff location.
The Cliff::Gourmet food in a stunning location. Best to make reservations in advance.
La Mer: the restaurant at Sandy Lane, REALLY expensive, food was pretty good, probably wouldn’t go back though. Same for the restaurant at the Fairmont.
Visit Earthworks-It’s a pottery studio located on Edgehill Heights you will find some very unusual pieces. You can find it sold around the island, but it’s interesting to see where it's made. Also, you will get some fabulous views of the south coast of the island and you can have lunch at the Lunch Club on a verandah.
