It makes my face looks as through I had a stroke, Can't blink, have to cut up food into bits as my mouth pulls too much to bite. Hardest thing is to tape the eye fully closed at night - lid keeps popping open! I'm over 60 so don't know how much it will improve.

I had it a few years ago. Scared the bejeepers outta me when my face drooped.

I thought I was having a stroke.

My doctor diagnosed me quickly and put me on a prednisone dose pack. The side effects from the meds were nearly worse than the Bells palsy, and can't be discussed in detail on a polite forum like this one.

I was in my late 40's when I had it.

Most of my facial function returned within 2 to 3 weeks. I still have some slight residual loss of function on the right side of my face, but it is very slight, and not apparent to the rest of the world.

Keep half-smiling and expect the best.

My niece had it last year...

She's 26, and had it and a few other strange things hit her all at once (dizziness that landed her in the hospital/wheelchair for awhile). She did make a full recovery in a couple of months. So sorry you are going through this. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
