NFR: Birds?

I watched thousands of swallows circling my house this evening. What was that about?

And then...

Another group of birds that I didn't know swooped in.

Heavens. THey all flew in circles above my house.

Then they were all gone.

It's too early for migration.

What the *&^*&^$*&^ is going on???

Anyone know what that's all about?

I love watching the swallows. It's like the Follies...in the sky!

My guess would be global warming. They are off their schedule.

And/or man-made obstacles like the diminishing migration of north American butterflies to Mexico

due to illegal logging there. I've watched this series twice, and of course, similar stories are happening everywhere around the world.

So very sad indeed.

I thought they were doin a remake of The Birds at my house the other morning

I was awakened by this horrible noise. I got up and realized the noise was coming from my den chimney. Since we are trying to kill the car eating squirrels, I naturally figured was was dying from all the poison we put out and decided to die in my chimney. Then the noise stopped but two seconds later started in my living room chimney. I ran outside to see what was going on and saw a crow on the chimney. And then a whole flock of killery crows flew from my chimney. I felt like I was under attack. You should have heard the noise the made leaving and fussing at me.

So weird, that it was it, just 10,000 birds buzzing

my house for 10 minutes, then they were gone and haven't come back.

We had that happen this past year; two days in a row. I have been racking my brain to recall

when it was... I know it was pre-April. I have never seen or experienced anything like it. I was in the kitchen in the early am, and could hear the noise with the windows shut. I could not imagine what could be making the noise. When I went to the window there were 10,000 birds, on the conservative side, swirling in circles moving from house to house, slowly going from east to west. I have never seen anything like it.

Your birds, were probably my birds, coming to say hello to you!

Ok, so if I was a bird and living in Cincy, I would pick your house/garden to hover over too.

Exactly!

I have tomatoes ripening, they must be eyeing those. All of my golden delicious apples have officially been stolen by the squirrels and there are only a few peaches left, must with gnaw marks on them.
