Today, in Phoenix, its a bit warm, and as I was driving I noticed my truck's temperature gauge was high, quite high. I called my son Joe and told him about it and I took my truck straight home. He was leaving the house when I pulled up and I didn't know this, but he was in a hurry to get some where, and told me to pop the hood. My poor truck was over heating quite terribly. Joe let out the pressure and when it stopped overheating he filled the over flow tank as well as my radiator then took it for a test drive. He came back and said it was fixed??!!! Apparently it is VERY important to keep fluid in the over flow tank for the radiator~ mine was dry and because it was dry air got in the radiator and cause my truck to overheat!!! Then he cleaned up and left. DH told me Joe was in a hurry and was surprised he did that. Can I love him any more than I do, what a sweet man he has become.
For funnsies, I called a local commercial shop and told them my truck was over heating, they said from what I told them that it was the thermostat or most likely I would need a new radiator, minimal starting price $350.00 and the manager told me that is the lowest offer right now in Phoenix. It's going to cost me right now to cook Joe's favorite meal and his favorite dessert and trust me I will enjoy whole heartedly paying him in full.
Be warned... keep fluid in your over flow tank for the radiator, as well as the radiator~ as far as the manager I told him my son fixed the issue that it was air in the lines, and know what he said? "I don't think so ma'am, he doesn't know what he is doing and you should bring it in" then he laughed, a condescending laugh, I just hung up on him.
