When I go to my "favorites" list, I pass my cursor over the website listing and a drop down box comes down telling me the url and the name of the website. It drives me nuts and blocks my view of the next listing. Can I stop this from happening somehow?

I experimented a little and with mine, if I keep the cursor to the right, the dripdown menu

stays to the right and doesn't obscure the next listing. I have no idea if it can be removed.

Yea, if you put your cursor allllll the way over to the right side of the

box it won't be a pest to you Karen.

I think I figured it out - if you put the cursor on the favorite that you

want, then move it just a tiny bit, the name of the website in the box disappears. 'Doesn't have to just hover over the icon )

Karen, try this....I was able to make mine "display" by selecting this button...

The steps below are from Windows XP system. The menu options may vary for Windows 9x systems.

Open Control Panel
>> select Folder Options
>>>> Click File Types dialog (tab)
Wait until they load and then scroll all the way down and select: URL - Internet Shortcut
Click Advanced button
UNCHECK "Always show extension"

Click
OK,
OK
and close the dialog.

Brilliant - it worked! No more pesky drop downs. It is amazing how a simple thing like that makes

life just a little more uncomplicated.
Thanks to all who made suggestions. They all worked, getting rid of the pest was the cream on the cake!
