NFR: DD's AZOOR appears to be back & doing more damage to her eyesight

We emailed the specialist and called her office for an appointment which normally is at least 6 weeks out. They got us in tomorrow at 2 for the visual field test and 2:50 with the doctor. Please pray that it isn't active again or hasn't been - with no known cause, cure or treatment, it's scary to hear your 17 year old say she's lost more of he vision.

Ditto that, hon. Lar's also fighting vision problems. Have you looked into an anti-inflammatory

diet?

We're getting Lar off the preservatives in his 3 eye drops (he needs the meds, but they're causing burning & redness plus lately he's had an increase in eye pressure). Plus it seems there are foods that can cause internal inflammation, like undigested wheat and night shade plants (like tomaotes and green and red peppers...you know, all the foods I cook with.) I'm wondering if her eyes are taking the hit from food inflammations?

I wish both of you good news in a scary situation.

I'll check into it but AZOOR is a rare and strange thing that hits young females

They tried an experiemental 'cocktail' last time with that new herpes drug and our part AFTER insurance was over $300 for one refill of it and no clue as to whether it works or does anything - just something the specialist wanted to try so she could include it in her paper for the AMA or something. They also had her on prednisone. Her ADHD doctor took her off all her meds for the summer last summer when we were going through the initial diagnosis just in case and then when she went back on her meds, they were changed anyway.

At this point, anything is worth a try. However, I don't have too much trouble with her diet - she's not a fan of anything with much tomato except pizza, peppers are a no no, can be in the dish for flavor but gets picked out....
