NFR: Does anyone else have this issue with Google Chrome?

When I come on this site or any other site, and click on a link someone has inserted, I do not have any back button to go back to the former page I was on. The back arrow is not highlighted, no back anywhere, not even when I right click my mouse. It is very frustrating, and I see others have the same issue when I Google this issue. Anyone know of a fix?

For me, it opens a new window, which is why there's not back button. I still have

the original page it linked, and a new tab a the top taking me to the new site. Nearly 90% of websites, a new tab opens. If it doesn't, I'm able to go back.

I get a separate window for each new link and if I "right-click" within our page, I get BACK

on the on-screen menu.

Eureka! I didn't even know I could right-click to then click on BACK. Thanks, Marilyn! PS: I'm

sorry you're having an issue with Goggle Chrome, KarenNoCA, but because you are, I sure learned a neat trick so thanks to you, too!

I learned that too...very slick. My issue is when I click on links that have been added into the

post. It opens in a new window and I have no way to go back from that open link. grrrrr.....so I have to start over again.

most likely the page opened in a tab. so the page you were on is still there

but in a different tab. In Chrome tabs are normally located at the top of the browser above the address bar. However they can also be located on the side of the browser. Do you have extensions installed?

Also if you use your browser in Full Screen mode, you won't see the tabs. Hit your escape key and that will get you out of full screen mode.

Paul, I think you nailed it. I bet she's on full screen mode (which I didn't even know Chrome had.)

Learning all the time!

OMG, "escape" worked, I just click on the tab and I can return to the first page of the forum.

Thank you so much....I have been so frustrated over this!

glad it helped. 50,000 hours working on a computer has to be good for something, right?

50,000 hours? That is very impressive! I have a son who is in the computer business

a small business in Sacramento, but he has done well. He does remote assists with me now and then for really major stuff and I can tell you from the heart, that I appreciate what you folks know. I can work the programs, and figure a lot of stuff out, but when I see what happens when you go into the guts of the computer, I am totally amazed!
