So bought a new one and same thing is happening,

I had troubles last year, suddenly, and had to use a program to copy instead of just

dragging and dropping. Are you using a program such as 'RECORD NOW'? That worked for me.
And I was about to throw out 200 new CDs because I thought they were incompatible.

No, I took pictures of a friends home for inventory purposes. Printed them for her, but trying to

move them to a CD she can stash for backup. Think I might just get a small memory card? but already have this?
is "record now" windows or? I run XP?
Thanks,
Nan

It's Windows. I have XP as well. I have always just dragged and dropped, the easy

way, but ran into a problem out of the blue. I would be surprised that you don't have a copy type of program with your computer. I had never bothered with it until I bought some cheap CDs from Office Depot.

But all was solved by my using Record Now.

It's just the damn CD that my computer will not format?? I moved them to a flash drive that

had room and that worked fine. It is a new CD.
I want to finish this project, so am just going to get a small memory card and put them there.
Thanks so much Marg!!!!!!!
Did look for "record now", not here. But haven't used CD's since I got this computer except for watching movies on DVDs
flash drives and memory cards ROCK.
again thanks
Nan

Yes, don't bother with the old format function. With a copy program, it's all done for you. Your

computer will just tell you that it doesn't recognize what's in the D drive but the program will look after it.

Can't believe you don't have a program. I wonder what others might have been packaged with your computer.

I like flash drives as well, but they are a lot more expensive than a 15 cent CD.

wierd, never had a problem before and even reused CDs over and over,

just go the column on left of "my computer" screen, click on where file is, pick file, and copy, move, print or delete.

think memory cards are cheaper. only one I have now is in my camera, $15 for 1 G. Already used it over and over. My flash drive have high mileage!
