NFR: going from Tucson to Sedona in August... good places to eat along the way?

Drive time~ ninety minutes from Tucson to Phx ~ two hours from Phx to Sedona total time is

3 1/2 hours if driving straight through.

There are many good restaurants to eat along the way in Phoenix the newly down town area of central ave & washington area is the Arizona Center several good restaurants and several cafe's surrounding are delicious.

Scottsdale has many good restaurants on Scottsdale Avenue and Shea Blvd, some pricey but the food is excellent.

Cheezz, I'll have to look up some of the restaurants to give you an excellent idea.

Sedona is breathtaking ~ have been there many times and my best advice to you is to bring plenty of cameras ~ seriously. They have a church built into the mountain that is spectacular and the rock formations and all red rock will take your breath away ~ simply no other place like it anywhere in the world. They have beautiful art galleries and I find the people and shop owners to be quite pleasant ~ If I could I would move to Sedona in a heartbeat ~ why I keep by lottery tickets.

 
I am SO excited about going! We're taking a side trip to the Grand Canyon, too... never been there!

If you think of any specific restaurants, let me know.

Oh, and if you know of any B&Bs, would appreciate that, too. This will be new for all of us.

You'll love it! I was there about 18 mos ago...

and I drive faster than dianncy64 I guess... Depending on the traffic, I did PHX to Sedona in well under 2 hours. I did 2 round trips in a 24 hour period (how to make a business trip work into a family visit). The only 2 hour leg I had was coming in to PHX on a Friday night. Yes, take plenty of camera space on a card, or loads of film...you're going to see things you'll never see any where else!
