NFR Have a ? what is the different between a Hillbilly and a Red Neck

In my world, a "hillbilly" is from a rural area, or a backwoods location. A "redneck" can be ...

...from anywhere. There are a lot of rednecks that were born in urban areas.

Jeff Foxworthy has made a pretty good career out of defining what a "red neck" is. His definition is that the term "red neck" implies someone with a "glorious lack of sophistication".

In other words, if the word NASCAR appears anywhere in your wedding vows, you might be a red neck.

I agree with Michael but I also read somewhere that the term "redneck" arose from

men laboring in the fields in tee shirts who got a red neck from sunburn.

It should probably be made known here that I saw a performance by Billy Hill & the Hillbillies at...

...the Golden Horseshoe Saloon at 3:45 in the morning last Leap Day, February 29th.

Disneyland was open all night.

Yeeeee haaaawwwww!

Michael

Yeah, it was "leap day" on the 29th of February, so last fall Disney marketing...

...people decided to open the park at 6 am on Wednesday (the 29th) and keep it open until 6 am on Thursday. My son and I went. He stayed the whole time (24 hours) but I took breaks at the hotel.

The last time I was in the park all night was on Grad Nite, June 16th, 1978. It was my first date with the girl who became my wife. Kinda special, if you know what I mean.

The fallout is good. We've been happily married forever, and this eldest son...

...shares Walt Disney's middle name (Elias), in honor of our first date.

Our son has always loved Disney and our family has fed that interest, since we're all fans as well.

He is looking at USC School of Engineering, with an eye towards becoming an Imagineer for Disney some day.

We couldn't be happier for him.

I know one of the Disney Imagineers (retired now) and always thought it was the coolest title smileys/smile.gif

That's where we sat for the 3:45 am show. It was a packed house!

Very surreal. The performers were so giddy at that hour, so the show was quite good.

The main guy talked to the audience about how when they heard they would be performing all night, they had "certain reservations". They thought there would be a good chance they'd be playing to 6 people at 3:45 am! They were pleasantly surprised to see a full house.

Very fun.

I really like that you can take food up and eat while you watch. My favorite movie theatre

In Austin is like that - Alamo Drafthouse. You sit in the seats and there are little menus in front of you on a ledge so you can mark what you want. Then the server comes by, fills your order and brings it back. Then they come around halfway thru the movie to see if you want anything else - in a movie theatre no less! Plus, you have a ledge to put your food so youre not trying to balance on your lap. Cool smileys/smile.gif
