It is amazing to me that they can feed so many people at a time and do it so well. Must say I ate waaaaay too much, but it was all fabulous.

Took me awhile to catch up and just wanted to say 'hey'.

Welcome back! What cruise line did you go on? We're planning

a short cruise this fall for our 20th anniversary and I am starting to look at cruise ships now. Thanks!

Not Cheezz but lots of experience in cruising....

Royal Caribbean is a great combination of price, entertainment, food and accomodations. We actually prefer the mid-sized ships over the mega-ships though they are still nice.

Celebrity is the upscale Royal Caribbean line and the food is slightly better but entertainment is not quite as good.

Princess and Holland America are both up in the same class as the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.

We had a bad experience on Norwegian but it was an older boat that was not built to be a cruise ship and it showed. I have heard much better reviews since they started building new boats but haven't cared to give them another shot.

Whatever you do, don't short yourself and take Carnival - most people (especially old farts like me) do not take well to them and it's almost enough to make you swear you'll never do a cruise again.

Depends on where you want to go and what is important to you. If you want more information, PM me - I have some other information I can give you.

We cruised the Royal Caribbean Splendour of the Seas...

We went out of Galveston to Cozumel and Costa Maya (5 days). If you're bored, you can check out my pics (all 109 of them!):

I loved the RC - very nice size ship... I can't imagine the food being any better than what we had in the dining room!! The Norwegian I took was also small and has since been retired. Last year I sailed to Mexico on the Princess Diamond - VERY nice ship. Food in the dining room was equally magnificent. Loved both ships. I have lots of websites and a great travel agent if you are in need.

Where will you be sailing from?

Splendor is one that we went on and loved it!...

I don't know if I can remember them all:
RC Nordic Empress - Caribbean
NCL Leeward - Caribbean
RC Granduer of the Seas - Mediterranean
RC Navigator of the Seas - Caribbean
RC Splendor of the Seas - Mediterranean

Well that's the ones I can remember. Loved the Granduer and Splendor the most. Navigator was fun but too big. Nordic Empress was a little small.

And Leeward was just plan horrible - does it tell you anything - it was a ferry before being converted and had sank 2 times before the conversion. GREAT just our luck!!!

My husband and I cruise quite a bit. Did the Splendor in 2005

You get a lot of bang for your buck. We tend to do mostly Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. We recently started going to the Southern Caribbean and love the islands farther south! Another fav is Bermuda. I too have a lot of info. You can PM me with any questions.

THAT'S IT - rather than trying to get us all together in one place - LET'S CRUISE!!!

Anybody game - say for next year so we can plan in advance and get a group rate?

Yes - checking into it but who would you be interested in???

Cat Cora has done one for the last two years in a row. I think Holland America does a chefs series and then one of the more expensive upscale one has a really nice series but we're talking BIG MONEY!!!

I'll keep checking though and see - any ideas on what chefs you would really be intersted in?

OH - I am sort of psyc'd - Walter Scheib is the keynote speaker this week at our regional ACF.....

and I am the logistics chair for the event and may have to miss his keynote - I better at least get a chance to meet him. One chef that I admire and I have to miss it. Just my luck!

THAI......want to do a Thai course please???? I'd love to join in.....

just wonder if it would all be possible.
