NFR (not quite, anyway!): anyone know much about flax seed?

I have one of those eye 'pillows' that is filled with flax seed. I decided to make myself a larger one. Bought the flax seed, sewed the pillow, filled it and heated it in the microwave like I do my smaller one. Well, you could almost wring it out, it had so much moisture in it. So... opened the pillow, spread the seed in a shallow pan and put it in a low oven for 4 hours. Refilled the pillow, sewed it close, heated in microwave again. No change... there is so much moisture, I can't use it.

Does anyone know what they might do to completely dry out the seed? All the directions I see online for making these things, just say "fill with rice or flax seed".

Thanks!

Never heard of filling with flax seeds. I have one filled with dry corn that heats in the micro.

Are you sure you have flax seed? Maybe the bag was mislabled or something. I've never

Heard of them releasing moisture when heated. Not that much anyway.

ditto, whatever you have Cheeze, there's something wrong with it. check back with the store.

I have replaced the cover on my small one a couple of times...

What I bought is the same thing - flax seed! Maybe I'll just give up and fill it with rice smileys/smile.gif

you could fill it with a combo of the rice, flax seed and some soothing herbs. nuke it

and apply to your eyes. the flax will cook the rice and after your eyes feel better you can open the pillow and have a healthy snack.... LOL
