I think I'm in love and wanted to share. We bought a LG Sidekick pedestal washer at Best Buy to fit under our not-fancy Maytag front-load dryer (we have top-load washer). The heavily discounted mini washer is new-in-box - never unpacked - but has a ding in the front panel (for $187 "open box"). With the two of us, it is handling almost everything we need washed without waiting for a whole load in the big washer. (Warning: Rules Broken) The washer is made to sit under an LG washer or dryer with a sensor that Dh was able to easily bypass. And it is extra deep (behind dryer okay with venting for us) plus opens into your room (and needs to be left open to dry or will end up stinky.) In it's maiden voyages, it is not underneath anything. Once we get moved next month and set up, I'll report back. Still, heads up! Take a look at the unit and if you think it might be useful for your needs, see if Best Buy has any of these LG Sidekicks as Open Box in your area. Colleen

 
We always buy the "dinged," "returned," and "refurbished."

They come with the same warranty, they are half the price, and actually, the returned is inspected by real people who know how the product should work to make sure it is in working order, vs the assembly line of people slapping a part on. I would trust refurbished any day over new. And since I am a cheap frugal German, I appreciate the savings and put it in the bank.

 
Wanted to test with a set of sheets - passed smileys/smile.gif

Instructions say 4# limit (w/example of 4 bath towels) so our queen bed sheet set seemed doable and was! Next time I will add 2 teaspoons of HE Tide instead of 1. Finished sheets smelled clean but I'd feel more comfortable w/trying 2 tsp. Will smell/ck this set again when we swap for new sheets next week. C
