NFRC. A warm fuzzy to share for the season.

My quilting group makes quilted tote bags from our scrap fabric to give to Children's services. They give the bags to children who are taken from homes and have little or nothing to take to their foster homes. We had our Christmas party last night, and the gal who works for Children's services came up to me and told me that today they were sending a little 3 year old girl to live permanently with her grandma in NC. She was sent on the plane with one of my bags, filled with goodies collected by co-workers to make her trip easier. The fella escorting her picked a blue bag---didn't want to run around the airport with a girlie pink bag.

LOL. That was another warm fuzzy for me this holiday season.

Hi Ang,

As I get older I find myself far less interested in the gift aspect of the holidays and more about heart-warming stories like this. Thank you for sharing it.

Ahhhh, that is really nice, thanks! Pat is right about that. Ang, do you remember,

it was over five years ago, a young man in Anchorage (pretty sure about that) whose family took in foster children was feeling bad, because they often showed up with their belongings in trash bags.
He did a drive to collect duffels, etc. that people could spare for these kids.
Don't have any details, but that might be something someone would like to use as a project.
One could even look for bags at Goodwill?
A big ((Holiday Hug)) to you and the family, loved the picture of you and Cathy!!
Nan

Maybe that's how we got the idea for the tote bags. Something so simple can make a difference.

Happy Holidays to you too Nan, wherever this holiday season finds you.
