NFRC - actually, NO food related chat -- has anyone ever gone on the Master Cleanse?

Also called the lemonade diet, or the cayenne pepper diet? Just wondered what your thoughts are and if you found it successful.

I have, numerous times!

It's wonderful!! The 1st 2-3 days are detox days and you may feel tired or sluggish. 3rd day on you feel WONDERFUL!

I highly recommend it! Email me if you want to know more. smileys/smile.gif

How can anyone go on a diet when their better half is not on any diet, and expects to be fed just,

like before my diet plan started? I do all the cooking, DH is incapable of preparing a meal, and smaller portions for me is obvious, but the kind of food is the problem...fatty meat, and starches. It's against his religion to eat a boneless, skinless chicken breast or a boneless pork loin chop, or a piece of fish that isn't deep fried. We are retired, and eat three meals a day at home, most of the time, so it's my job to prepare our meals, and I want to diet, diet, diet, but can't figure out how to get him to cooperate. BTW, he needs to lose 100 pounds. I need to lose 15! Thank you for listening to my rantings, any advice will be welcomed. Much love to all.

My husband is very supportive... I cook things for him that I don't like..not tempted to eat! lol

Works for us! smileys/smile.gif

since you do the cooking, just cook what you need to to maintain our diet. Tell him things will be

that way until you reach your goal and you would appreciate his support in your efforts. If he want other things he can get them when he is out.

I did this diet for 21 days and felt really good while I was on it. However,

since I was not eating/tasting anything I cooked, my cooking really suffered. But like Gayle, I really felt good while doing it. It is just hard being a foodie with family doing this.

surprisingly, when DH asked what there was to eat, I told him I decided to do this and he joined me!

He is just fasting, though.... water only as he wouldn't do the lemonade thing and he's allergic to cayenne. The difference is, I have plenty of energy and he's lethargic. I think he'll break soon though smileys/smile.gif

You can take cayenne in capsule form if you have to...

I do. Get heartburn when I drink it.

Dawn, yes I do 21 days, too. Not always but it's my favorite length. I'm on it now. smileys/smile.gif

How long is it? Anything more than 3 days you should check with a doctor.

Could get all your body regulators out of whack.

Just finished day 4 and it's been so much easier than I expected... no real hunger pangs.

I'm not into suffering, so if I really got hungry, I'd grab something to eat, but really haven't felt like it yet. You're sweet to be concerned, though smileys/smile.gif
