town is. I keep an eye on my snowbird neighbor's house and a strange car has been in the driveway for a while. I called the local police station and........I GOT AN ANSWERING MACHINE!!! Thank goodness it wasn't a crisis situation!

 
Having worked or a police department, now retired, I am curious about your voice mail to the police

Do they advise you, if it is an emergency to call 911? Does your community have 911?
If not, I would contact/make friends with a local officer, ask him/her what you can do to get service. Better yet, have your home alarmed, have licensed/permitted guns with your county, know the law and take matters into you own hands.
Know the laws, study them, teach your family. Take care of yourselves.

 
Here's the other side of the coin. Nice to have a lovely kitchen store IN my city. this was a good

one to visit. Only took me 40 minutes today at 120 km per hour to get there. And it's in MY end of the city.

I've been avoiding this trip for 2 weeks.

Get me out of here, I'll order online.
