I just bought my first CI magazine, and on the back cover is a display of Indian herbs and spices showcased in a brown frame. My first thought? A perfect wall picture! But do all CI magazines have something similar on the back cover? These would make a nice series of "me" pictures. Thanks for any input!

Lol Angie, I saved those back covers for years. I envisioned them as a sort of

collage on a breakfast room wall. Then I moved into a house that has too many windows and not enough walls. I eventually discarded them, but you wouldn't believe how beautiful and colorful some of those back covers are. While the magazine dates back to 1993, it wasn't until 1998 those kind of covers started. They've featured different types of fruits and vegetables, shellfish, etc. Like one would be winter squashes or mushrooms, or melons, nuts, different kinds of eggplant, etc. One of the most colorful was edible flowers. They have an assortment of colors for a frame. I order the bound set each year, so I still have a complete set of the magazines.

I hope you find a way to use them, they are really special.

You might even contact the interior decorators in your area and let them know what a treasure you

have. Someone could really do a fabulous wall with those, or even artists who paint custom tiles for folks to use in their kitchens and baths. I used to do rubber stamp art and when I sold all my stamps, an artist called and asked if I was selling my rubber stamp catalogs. She came over and bought a sack of them to use for ideas in her custom tiles.

I once covered the walls of my breakfast nook with Gourmet Magazine covers.

I wrote to Gourmet and they very generously sent me a large supply of magazine covers. Looked great - wish I could find a picture I could send you.
