NFRC: Gardens left for vacation?

I can hook up the soaker hose or depend on my son to water our tomatoes while we're gone but I wondered if anyone has a different way to insure my crops survive (4 big plants in containers)? Thank-you, Colleen

 
I have a RainDrip automatic patio watering system that I set up...

It wasn't difficult and works well. In the intense heat and sun we have had lately in NC I have it set to water 1/2 hr morning and late afternoon. Allows me to be away some and still have nice flowering pots of flowers. I saw one at my local garden center and then found it much cheaper online.
