NFRC: My shoes are squeaking and it's driving me nuts!

To add to the pain, they were expensive shoes from Nordstrom's (no Nordstrom's here, of course!). I can't figure out how to fix this--flat rubber soles so there are no moving parts to squeak. I've twisted them this way and that way, but they still squeak. (This just started a month or so ago.) Grrr...

Thanks for letting me vent...

Could be they may be tight near the sides ~ I use olive oil or vasaline around the stitching where

the soles attach to shoe and seriously inside the shoe ~ if they are sandles I would NOT rub the olive oil or vasaline inside the shoe. This has worked for me (dried for a day and removed excess)

The only other alternative is go to a shoe repair or take them back.

I'm not cracked this has really worked for me but since they are expensive shoes atleast call a shoe repair and see what they recommend.

Nordstroms will take them back...I worked in shoes when I was first out of high school...depending

on where the sound is coming from, there may be nothing you can do. If it's in the sole, towards the middle, it's an issue with the last. You can't do anything about that. (It's often too much work to be cost-effective for a shoe repair guy to work on a problem like that.)

We would have exchanged them in a heartbeat...and with Nordstrom's legendary return policy, they won't blink an eye. I'd take them back.

Amanda, they know their stock and will refund/exchange. this happened to my DH.

the sole came apart and they refunded, no questions asked. It was a pair of cole hahn so they knew he most likely bought them there---no other place to get those in Alaska!
