What was I thinking? I'm starting to get confused with this two household business.

Also, I found my first moving casulty today: an antique platter. Two pieces of the rim broke off. It's a part of a set that I bought at a garage sale a few years ago. At least it is something that I bought and not a family heirloom. I think it can be fixed if I take it to someone good with repairing china. Sigh...

If what you need to iron isn't too intricate, put a layer of towels on your dryer and iron away.

Years ago, when everything needed ironing, I put towels on the bed and ironed there. But I'm loling about the iron and ironing board ending up in different states.

Ah, but my new dryer is still in its box because my spouse hasn't hooked it up yet!

Don't you love moving???!!!

Thanks for the tip, though. I may do that on the kitchen countertop!

Be careful, you can scorch some surfaces like formica if the layer of towels isn't thick enough, or

steam/heat collects under them. I consider it sort of a emergency fix for one or two pieces.
