NFRC: Retina-ese

So I was back at the doctor's office yesterday for 4-week exam and doc pulled me over to the computer monitor and started explaining how well the surgery had worked. I had to stop her and explain that she was speaking in Retinaese and I had no clue what she was talking about.

Then I asked about a blurry issue with my other eye. Looking through her scope (because my pupils were so dilated that the curvature of the earth was visible) she said that I have "a fluffy, cotton candy type floater" in my eye.

Yep. Even my eyeballs produce sugary desserts.

When I asked what the solution was (more steroid drops??) she said:

(remember, medical school degree is speaking here)

"Do jumping jacks."

Yes, you read that right. I'm to do jumping jacks which will help the floating blob of...whatever it is...move downward.

I honestly looked at her and said: "I honestly can't tell if you're joking."

She laughed and said they've found that exercise helped this type of problem. Especially jumping jacks.

Good lord, I haven't done jumping jacks since Mrs. Coon's eighth grade gym class

And here I thought I'd reach a level of maturity by having cataracts removed, but apparently I'm back in eighth grade.

Me doing jumping jacks. It wasn't pretty then and it isn't pretty now.

Marilyn, I find that very enlightening. Let us know if it works....and by the way all I can think

of now is Jumping Jack Flash..........

Wow, this is a WIN/WIN! JJs 2 improve yr vision & also yr weight will plummet! No surgery,

no pills, no special diets. What a lucky day for you, Marilyn!

PS: You have probably guessed that I am grinning from ear to ear in southern IN! This could only happen to YOU, M. I have NEVER EVER heard of such a thing. One more reason for you to write a book.....
