I have several friends who just signed book deals and are on the hunt for book agents. Thought I'd check here to see if ya'll know anyone.

Feel free to shoot me an e-mail: seattletallpoppy@gmail.com

Thanks.

Surely Kim R. knows someone? What genre are we talking about?

(Forgive me for being completely clueless about the author side of things, but you sign the deal first and then get an agent? I always thought it was the other way 'round--the agent got one the deal. Good to know!) smileys/smile.gif

I'm still learning. Friends on the hunt for agents. Cooking in particular. Got a great lead

And yes, I need to talk with Kim R. She's in your neck of the woods. We're meeting next week and I'll bring it up. But Lisa looks promissing. Stay tuned...

have you asked orangette, or shauna, or deb at smittenkitchen? they all have recently

published books. and pioneerwoman has hers coming out in the fall. If you twitter her, she may contact you---she is way too busy on her blog to answer emails there.

Well, it's halfway through - it's very magical and funny - The

real challenge is going to be finding an agent and publisher - why do I always pick the hardest, most impossible careers????

Yes, I know Orangette & Shauna. I believe Orangette had an agent but I

haven't had a chance to talk with her about it. Thanks for the input. I heard Pioneer Woman has a cookbook coming out (published by Andrews McMeel, who I've been working closely with lately) and I'm SO excited!

Another friend of mine at Chef Reinvented just signed on with a book deal on Sustainable Seafood. And of course, Jaden Hair from Steamy Kitchen has her book coming out too.

I'm starting to feel like one of the only bloggers without a book deal! Although, at this point, I have no idea what I'd write about anyway... smileys/smile.gif

Excellent! I was just with my friend Crescent and she's had several of her

childeren's books published. Then the industry hit a slump. After 10 years, she finally sold another children's book. Little Brown is the publisher.

Hang in there! As Crescent says, rejection is a normal part of the process.
