NFRC: To Angiebaby regarding neck massagers...

Ang,

I just reread your post about your sinus problems.

Whatever you decide to do, please be careful about where you place a mechanical massager. I've gone through two bad years with frozen shoulders and tendonitis and one day I was in so much pain I grab my TENS unit and slapped it on my neck and set the pulse to vibrate.

Well...I didn't realize it, but I placed the pads right on a bank of nerves and ended up giving myself a migraine. So...instead of alleviating the pain, now I had shooting pains in my shoulders AND a migraine.

Please be careful. Massage can really help. Just don't be in such a rush that you end up hurting yourself worse (ie: like I did.)

Take care. I wish you much success. Larry just found out his sinus system is filled with cysts and nodules. He sees a specialist in 2 weeks.

Marilyn, thank you so, so, so much for this post.

Your post made something which happened to me once make sense. I had a headache and a goose egg at the base of my skull (I call it my heck, because it's not my head, and not my neck!) and I applied an ice pack to it. When I got up afterwards, I staggered around like a drunk. I'll be I put the ice on the nerve bundle you're talking about.

I'm just about to the point of going to the dr. about my HUGE neck. I do wish Larry more energy, better sleep and the blessing of just breathing normally... all the things might get to have again after he gets specialized treatment.
