NFRC: Why does this always happen?! We're in the middle of a major snowstorm.

We have about 8 inches on the ground and nothing much is moving out there. Grabbed my dig camera and snapped some photos to send to friends and relatives. I had JUST taken the batteries out, I was still on the front porch, when an Amish man came galloping by on a jet black horse. He had on a black wool cape which was billowing out behind him and a tall black hat. Against the trees and fields almost hidden by the snow.

Beautiful....and me with no batteries.

Dang.

Figures! All you can say is "rats" and try again... btw, it's 76 here at 3pm smileys/smile.gif

Wow. Just to witness that would be a highlight in life. To be ready, but not charged, for a photo

would be a butt-kicking and unforgettable moment.

So sorry. But there it is etched in your memory.

I have a few raccoons bouncing around in a mist of snowfall. Not so unusual but still...there it is.

Sounds beautiful. Thanks for describing it., anyway.

I know the Amish don't like having their picture taken, so perhaps having no batteries handy was the universe telling you that the scene was for you alone. Sometimes the best pictures are the ones you can only see in your heart.

Awww...Thanks. I'm so glad Cyn shared the image with us though. I can just see it...

Like something out of Sleepy Hollow (also upstate New York, no?).
