Egads, people - what a mess once again. Michael, you might relate, only we didn't lose power this time. THANK God!

I got home from my 3 day conference in Branson on

Saturday afternoon. Came home to keeping my 3 yr old granddaughter, who is a JOY but oh, so busy!! Wears this overweight, sleep deprived grandmother out! Sunday night we got another ice storm. It finally melted enough today that I could get out of the house and get around. *sigh Good thing - I was going stark-raving-mad!!!! smileys/wink.gif

Wouldn't have been quite so bad but my home-again daughter (mother of my sweet 3 yr old) is in college and her classes were all canceled because of the ice. Home alone. With her. Sheesh.

Oh, my. Was I happy to get out and have a lovely lunch with my girlfriends today!!! Two Mama's in a house is tooooo much! smileys/smile.gif

Thank you God for thawing the ice! It's still all over trees, houses, and most everything but the roads are fairly clear. YAY

YIPPPEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Another front moving in on Thurs night. Rats.

Done now. smileys/smile.gif

thx

I know from which you rant...

the ice storm was the worst. I am so glad you guys have power! My stepdaughter and family stayed with us for 5 days, and amazingly, we all got along, at least as far as I know. The last two winters I have lived here, I thought, well it's cold, but it's not that bad. This year, it is that bad. I hope you will continue to have power Gayle. We were lucky because our powerlines are underground. Keep in touch girly. Keep warm!

Hey Dawn....

There have been a lot of power outages in our area but YES, we are fortunate - and we know it - to have kept ours! When we had the big ice storm in Jan 07 we had 12 people at hour house for over a week. It was insane. I, fortunately, did not go insane! (can't believe it, looking back now!) We did have blurbs of time when the electricity would pop on for maybe 2-3 hours then go off again for a day or so. During those times I would cook like crazy, clean and jump into the shower! ha It was nuts but we were blessed.

You begin to feel like you do in your 9th month of pregnancy....that you'll always be this way! haha

Our trees are still covered today so I am praying it all melts off before the next wave of ice and sleet hits either tonight or tomorrow.

I'm getting ready to bake DH some chocolate chip cookies and brownies for Valentine's Day. I rarely bake anymore - don't want to eat them! He's taking me out tonight for a special dinner. Will be fun to go somewhere and have an elegant dinner. We rarely do that so I'm looking forward.

Hope you have a great Valentine's!

Hugs

Thanks, AngAk ---

I know where you live is geared for ice and lots of snow so you are prepared to live that way. These last 2 winters here have been very abnormal in that respect.

Thanks for reminding me about FarmGirl's blog! I'll take a peek!

We may be geared for cold and snow, but no one can deal with all that ice. It cripples us too.

Yes...ice is

hazardous to body, mind and soul! Not to mention houses, trees, utility lines, vehicles, animals.

I see your point!

Hugs
