extra 1/2 inch on my computer- as far as I can see it's useless, and cuts off more of the screen. It's the 4th and last bar down, and just repeats the name of the URL, which I can clearly see in the address bar. Anyway to get rid of it? There's no delete option that I can see.

(The first bar has the File, Edit, View, etc.

The second bar is the address bar, back button, etc.

The third is the Toolbar.

This new one just takes up useless room).

Is it the Tabs bar? I just updated too and it keeps popping up. In Preferences, unclick

"Always show the tab bar". To close the tab bar, right click on it to get the contextual menu and select "close tab".

Right click "Firefox" in the top left (or wherever it is on your screen. But Tabs are very

useful -- you might even become a fan. In a sense, you can have multiple windows open in one window. Say if you're browsing Finer Kitchens, and you want to look at several replies or recipes in a thread. You can just right-click and say Open in a New Tab, but the main page stays the same -- you can select other replies to look at later, without ending up with a ton of windows open. Then you just click along in the Tab bar to view the page you wanted, and click on the x when you're done with it. Easier than managing multiple windows and trying to remember what the relationship was between them all.

Thanks, Shaun. smileys/smile.gif Now I have another problem-can't find "Clear private Data" under "Tools" anymore.

Can you?
I also can't find Mozilla Firefox anywhere on my screen to click Preferences, etc. I just have it on my Start Menu. Help!

I'm on a Mac, so I don't know what a Start Menu is. When you're in a program, isn't there a program-

specific menu bar across the top of the screen? My "Preferences" ("Options" in Windowspeak) is under "Firefox" (before File, Edit, View, etc.).

If not, you'll have to ask a PCer.

I have Options under Tools, but there's no "Preferences." The Start menu has the programs listed,

but no Preferences when I right click Mozilla. Maybe a PCer will see this and answer. Thanks, Shaun.
