Years ago when I first started travelling frequently to Italy, Moyn so graciously shared all of her restaurant info. She loved Italy and they tried to work it into every trip they made.

One restaurant, Il Drappo, in Rome she had never been too but it had been highly recommended.

I tried a few times to make reservations there but never could in the few days I had in Rome and eventually stopped trying. This time I saw the name mentioned in an obscure book and we succeeded in eating there.

It was a most superb meal. The restaurant serves

Sardinian specialities and each and every one was delicious and so was the wine. We were the only non Italians there.

I raised my glass to Moyn and wished I could discuss this with her.

I second that - wonderful story here - we 'ran' into Moyn and Teddy in Italy

DH and I also turned to Moyn frequently for travel advice (we also met them in Miami many years ago) and when we planned a trip to Italy we followed their recommendations to a T.

I don't think we actually shared the dates of our trip with them so imagine my surprise when DH and I are sitting down to a lovely breakfast at our Florence hotel and I hear a voice that I could have recognized ANYWHERE! I turned around and sure enough - there was Moyn and Teddy!! Sheer delight!

How amazing that must have been. Uri and I also had met them in Fl. for dinner but it would have.so

amazing to run into someone just like that!!

I still keep in touch with Teddy

Such a nice man. Dana a bit too.

You are in Tel Aviv - right? My (darling) nephew, Matan, just returned from a 9 month leadership program in Israel. He deferred his college start by one year to do this.

And this summer we have relatives from Jerusalem moving in with us for about two weeks. Actually - our home will be their 'base'. I'm lending them my car so that they can go to Toronto/Niagara as well as Chicago (we are plum in the middle of them!). I spent a summer in TA when I was 29 and visited them frequently in Jerusalem. I'm thrilled to host them here.

I miss that voice too! sometimes we would get to emailing back and forth at a furious rate

over something silly. then the phone would ring and it was Moyn and we would just laughing till we cried.

she was a great lady and great friend.

Yep, same here. We'd be emailing back and forth and suddenly she'd call.)

I just know she'll have the table set and a great spread set out for us when it's our time to join her. ;o)

I think we should, first toast with a hearty cup of Ambrosia. I'm sure one of the courses would

include angel hair pasta and there would be divinity fudge on the ample desert table....
