When I was working back east several years ago we
had a Christmas pot luck dinner just before vacation. This mixture is the best snack mix I have ever had. It was a little pricey, so several of us chipped in and bought some of the items. I thought some of you might enjoy trying it for your holiday entertaining. Also makes a great gift when packaged attractively.
NUTS AND BOLTS
SAUCE:
1 lb. butter, melted
1/3 cup Worchestershire sauce
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
3 Tbls. chili powder
Mix all togerther
MIX:
1/2 box Rice Chex
1/2 box Corn Chex
1/2-1 small box Cherrios
1 bag/box pretzels or small pretzel sticks
1 bag Bugles
1 or more cans nuts: Peanuts, cashews (I use both)
1/2 box Cheeze Its
1 bag Pepperige Farm fishies
Put dry ingredients into a large roasting pan, the size of aluminum roasting pans available in grocery stores. Mix all together, then pour sauce over all. Mix again. Bake at 300 degrees for 1/2 hour. Remove from oven, stir again. Put back in oven, bake 1/2 hour longer.
Store in airtight containers.
If anyone trys this, let me know how you like it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY CHANUKAH, AND A HEALTHY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.
