Off to NYC tommorow! Look out Gotham, it's a Carboliday!

Richard, I don't know if you have time to answer me before you leave, but ...

...I was wondering if you suffer any ill effects when you go off your low-carb eating habit and eat a bunch of carbs all of a sudden. I'm assuming that's what you mean by "Carboliday".

When I used to eat a super low-fat, ultra-clean fish/chicken/egg white with steamed veggies and only whole grains, and then go get a plate of deep-fried fish 'n chips, I'd be sick for two days! All that fat at once made me feel like I had an indigestible bowling ball in my stomach.

Do you notice any issues?

Michael

Obviously not Richard, but I think that is a fairly normal reaction - the extent of ill feeling may

vary but there is definitely discomfort if you overdo.

Definitely, feel it. But after shrinking, I just don't have as much

room to pack it in like I used to. And even though I will be indulging in a higher carb intake, I am not going overboard. I'll be indulging in the occasional bowl of Sichuan noodles, a steak frites, sushi, a slice of pizza here, a NY bagel for breakfast, stuff like that. It's not going to be wall-to-wall starch and sugar.

I was all set to eat every cookie, candy, and other treats that came my way over the Christmas holiday. I ended up eating just a few, that's all I wanted. Took a 4 week break from low carb and gained...4 lbs. which I had off the week after I went back to low carb.

It's definitely a life style that one learns to live in.
