Made these today...my very first cake flop!!
I've never had a cake turn out bad, so I guess it was bound to happen. Now, I have to say the taste is really good. BUT, the rose about 1/2" - didn't get above the cupcake liner. And they are so soft and moist that you have to eat them out of the paper with a spoon. There is no way you can peel the paper off of them.
I couldn't find toffee bits, either, so I candied walnuts for the top.
