Oh, Happy Day! With a gift certificate, I found this French cocotte at Sur La Table on sale for $99.

I got the last red one. The link is to WS but Sur La Table is a west coast chain that is charming and much more affordable. I have a "professional" card with them and got an additional 10% off!

I had received the gift certificate from my garden's Board of Directors. It's nice to be appreciated. I've been wanting this 4-qt. size and though I was hoping for Le Creuset at some point to match my others, this will certainly do. Julia's Braised Duck with Sauerkraut here I come!

I also got an inexpensive steel omelet pan by Lodge and a whisk, to use up the amount of the gift.

Oh Fun! Now to think what will be the first dish to make in it... Cassoulet?

P.S. What a very nice gift you rec'd from the BOD. It is nice they appreciate your work, effort and committment.

Only a half recipe of cassoulet would fit. I'm thinking a braised chicken dish to break it in

I love my Staub pot!! That's a great one you have, and what a deal!

I like that chicken recipe by CI where it's braised with very little liquid, poulet en cocotte.
