I feel for you, I finally moved from NJ to AZ 25 yrs ago, yes the summers are hot but no snow

I TRIED to take the trash cans to the street

NFRC. The year was 1982. January 2nd, to be exact. The San Diego Chargers and the...

...Miami Dolphins played the greatest NFL playoff game of all time. San Diego beat Miami after more than 13 minutes of overtime, 41 to 38. Even though it was January, it was hot and humid in Miami. Game time temperature was nearly 100 degrees, and on the field, with the humidity, it was the equivalent of 120. Players were being carried off the field after the game, because they could not leave under their own power.

The Chargers advanced to the AFC Championship Game the following Sunday, in..... Cincinnati. Temperature on the field: -20 (with wind chill factored in). The Chargers lost that game.

Imagine playing until you couldn't walk because of the heat one weekend, and then flying to Cincinnati the next weekend and facing blinding cold! That's a 140 degree difference, one week to the next! 140 degrees!

Oy.

Was trying to keep my chocolate from melting in the car. Should add that I grew up in Ohio til I was

12, then we moved to California. So I can sincerely appreciate the milder winters and feel for those who are going through the cold and icy conditions right now. Man oh man the stories I could tell about trekking the long walk to school, as a child, in knee deep snow. Don't miss it.

I have to admit, as I sit here wearing shorts, imagining my garbage cans freezing to the sidewalk:)
