well, alrighty! Another one to try...I think I'm going to use the roller
slightly different this time too. All the downward pressure I'm applying is out on the handles...so I don't think that pressure is transferring to the carved barrel--it's just not pressing into the dough deep enough.
If you notice the steel barrel in Gay's link, force would be applied right on the roller itself--like my big wooden ash barrel.
I'll be out until next week--going to see Mom for a family dinner. Will give it a try then.
