Oh Richard...Thought of you in Tuesday Morning this afternoon. They had bags of Mozart

candy, but only the praline and caramel ones. You had me ready to grab some cherries. I was so disappointed they didn't have them.

I remembered the logo from when we were helping you look.

The Dominos are terrific. Tiny little petit fours made of bottom layer of lebkuchen, layer of fruit gel, layer of marzipan and then all dipped in dark, white or milk chocolate.

oh, be still my heart. my very favorite childhood holiday treat. I ate the last 2 I had

squirreled away just yesterday. Aldi's carries them at holiday time.

I'd never even heard of them or Lambertz. I looked them up-neat company.

The Europeans still have us whooped on candy and baked goods.

Ang, between those and the Lebkuchen, we felt like Hansel & Gretel when we in Nuernberg last fall.

One could not sling a dead cat without hitting a store selling them. Made it very convenient since we could just stop and buy when we were ready for our next cookie smileys/smile.gif

did you get a giant heart lebkuchen---or is it gingerbread? I had one hanging up in my bedroom for

years---too bad I didn't just eat it up when fresh.

Ang the German word for "dominoes" is "Dominosteine"

The candy is named after them although I haven't a clue why since they certainly don't look like dominoes, except maybe the thin layers encased in the chocolate. I guess the original German domino playing pieces were made of slate or some such.
