I had leftover sour cream AND buttermilk I needed to use up, so I mixed it half and half. They did indeed sink a little on cooling, but I think that's normal.
I had also made "Mom's Apple Cake" posted by Meryl and had extra frosting left over (the caramel frosting from Neighbor Dorothy's Heavenly Caramel Cake), so I used that and it was just wonderful.
