Oh, something that may interest you. What would you think the menu at a grad ball in England .......

would be?????

My other DD has just had her university ball ( Architecture) all dressed up in Dickie-suits and bow-ties........and the menu was?????

No, nothing English, nothing French .....

They had Pulled Pork and buns etc. (No slaw but salad instead) But, interesting difference...... The pork is always served with apple sauce and mustard. No mop sauces in sight.

I have had it this way at some of the horse shows I've been to there. It is VERY scrummy. Still, I thought it interesting that the English "ball" menu was pulled pork.

The spits were set up outside and yes, it was typical English weather, drizzling non-stop!

The above post has had stars put in for the common name for a dinner suit......

hilarious!!!! I never ever would have thought that they would be synonmous.
We call these suits (as do a lot of English)...D***y(Short for Richard)suits!!!!! Meaning Dinner jacket (DJ's)and be-ribboned matching trouses. What are they commonly called in the USA?

Too funny, Joannie

I had a certain English author censored as well in an earlier post.

If I'm imagining this correctly, what you are refering to is called a tuxedo, or tux for short, in the US.

Hope things are going well for you and your family and your daughter is on the mend!
