Ok, all this chocolate talk made me go on the internet and you know what that does, right??

Now I'm all confused. For example Cacao Barry is part of Barry Callebaut, but they are different actual products...right? I'm so confused.

My friend sent me some Cacao Barry chips, but they are mini chips. When looking for Cacao Barry big/normal size chips I find Barry Callebaut and I know Barry Callebaut is the new global brand from the merged companies, but heck if I can tell if they are different products. I think they are...the only Cacao Berry chips listed are the ones she sent me, from the same place listed.

All this started with her sending me these and me trying to find a good local source to buy chocolate -- heck with all the chocolate factories here a good priced source should be...somewhere. I thought for sure I recalled someplace south of SF that was a good price/bulk source, but can't recall the name. Grr!

Qzina and the Guittard factory are around the corner from each other here, and Callebaut is just up by Napa.

Cacao Barry is the French Division of Callebaut, which is Belgian. Same ownership, different

products. I've had both brands of cocoa powder, and there's a big difference - I prefer Callebaut, which is lighter in color, but much deeper in taste. (Haven't tried the Cacao Barry chocolate chips).
