ok, here's another HUGE fan of Roosters Famous Fire Crackers!! What took me so long?!

I've made them 3x now. They smell great but I must be doing something wrong. End result? Meh.

I can't stop eating them!! Have you tried different cheeses or crackers? I tried the DARE crackers..

and think I like them better than saltines. I did sharp cheddar with a bit of chipotle chile powder.

As a former addict, I LOVED them hot out of the oven, but cold? They get far too hard.

And oddly taste stale, even though they are fresh. I thought they would be perfect using sesame rice crackers, which are already hard and crunchy, but the fat made them rubbery.

I'm with you Cheezz. I just made another batch to send my parents

and I usually give them half and keep half for myself but I've had to stop saving half for myself because I was eating it all in one sitting.

Love them!

I'd like a bit to try - can you mail it in a regular envelope without TSA knocking on your door?

I ate most of them after 4-5 hours in the oven, so of course I had to go try them this morning...

they are very crisp and still wonderful, although I did prefer them slightly warm from the oven smileys/smile.gif

Hmm...I've never eaten them straight from the oven...

I usually put them in the oven before I go to bed. And then don't remember about them until I go to make dinner the next night:)

But I've eaten them weeks after and thought they were still great.

I really enjoy them. I keep looking for an "everything" blend, similar to the spices on bagels,

I think they would be great!! I tried to replicate it, using garlic powder and they did not work. BUT, when I use other spices, including pepper flakes, they are really good.

Part of the fun is watching people try to figure out what they are and how they are made. Mine always break up in different shapes / sizes.
