We'll be in the Lakeland area, I know it's not like Orlando or Miami but does anyone know any really goood eateries? Maybe even some kind of FL chain that we might not have in the Midwest?

We won't have a lot of extra time as our schedule will be pretty intense but we'd love to try some new places while in the area.

Any suggestions?

Sorry sweetie. I know not the area. Here's a take from chowhound on Lakeland.

I use chowhound as a filter. Eliminate any place that folks found nasty or rude...then balance off the rave reviews with the "so-so" reviews. Unless some place is unanomously agreed to by all reviewers: then I'll give it a try.

Looks like Marilyn found a great resource, I know nothing of Lakeland, either, but I see they

have a Bonefish Grill, we like that and if you go, be sure to order the Bang-Bang shrimp appetizer, good stuff!

I see Chalet Suzanne in Lake Wales is mentioned, I have no idea how far Lake Wales is from Lakeland, but that restaurant has been famous for years, I don't know if it still holds up to it's hype or not. Have fun and enjoy our hot, humid Florida.

 
Thanks! We won't have a lot of time for checking out restaurants so

we may stock our fridge with some fruit, yogurt and healthy snacks. Would like to try some fresh seafood at some point if we have time so might look for Bonefish Grill. Thanks!

Our motel is supposed to have a good breakfast buffet so we'll see. That goes a long way! We'll be in services twice a day so we're not too worried but am appreciative for your efforts! Thanks so much! The night service is near Plant City at some airport. They have some kind of makeshift arena set up that holds 10k people.

We're just blessed to be able to attend! See y'all next week!
