Okay AngAK! What gives? This is the second time in a couple of weeks

that it is in the teens in North Texas & the thirties in much of Alaska. Take it back!

We have been swinging from 70 one day to teens the next fairly regularly. Brrr!

 
record tying high yesterday of 46 in Anc. we hate it. makes snow packed roads/parking lots

solid ice with water on top for even more slickness. give me below freezing and snow any day in winter. We would surely take back that cold weather. our big ski area Alyeska has been closed all week because of the warm weather and rain. yuk.

 
I can imagine. That's what happens each time on the rare occasions we get Winter precip

More ice or sleet than snow.

High is usually in the fifties mid January. Most of us dipon't have clothes for very cold weather.

 
I have been struggling wrapping my mind around this. My niece went skiing on Sat at a mtn

in this area. Shawnee mountain. It is a really small mountain compared to any mountains that true skiiers enjoy. But, it was open, it was lightly snowing, and enjoyed. But, it is small.

How can Alaska be closed for skiing!! : ) I took a look at the mountain you referenced. That is one large, huge mountain. How can Alaska close for skiiing! What is up with this weather! Just makes me shake my head.....
