Okay, I'm sick of my crappy pastry brushes. They shed. Last night I brushed melted chocolate

over cookies, and I had bristles in the chocolate. Real appetizing.

I've been using brushes with natural bristles, and looked at Amazon reviews of both natural and silicone, and they all sound lousy. One person on egullet said they use paintbrushes from an art supply store and they never shed.

Any recommendations out there?

I miss being able to get turkey feather pastry brushes easily.

I have one lone one left after years of hoarding and being so careful with them. I do have a silicone brush which is okay for "big stuff" but you are right- the regular pastry brushes shed and are lousy. I went to paint brushes too.

I too was looking... thanks for the info... I'll be using Michael's 40-50% coupons in sunday paper

I've had my Pastry Brush from the Pampered Chef for yrs with no shedding

I've also used paint brushes too. The paint ones seemed somewhat easier to clean because the bristles seemed less tight, but they also shed on me.
