Okay, I've cut a lot of butternut squashes, this is the first time I've seen the seeds

sprouted inside. A mass of sprouts, some about 4 inches long. The squash looks great, but I'm wondering. Anyone else have this happen?

 
Was the squash in a warm place perhaps??

sounds like something out of Invasion of the Body Snatchers! LOL

They eventually would have metabolized the squash flesh for energy but I've never heard of this happening before, how interesting!!!!

 
Yes, it was in the pantry and had been there for a couple of weeks, and lol, I did taste them, they

tasted like bean sprouts, just a bit squashy. DH said it was a two for one, salad along with the veggie. He took a couple of pics, but I have no idea how to post them.
