Squeeze half a juicy lime over 1 and half measures ice cold vodka in a good sized glass. Top up with ginger ale.....

Help, maybe THIS is why I don't loose weight, my subconscious won't let me.....

And a wonderful recipe given to me by a girl we met in Brazil, neither of us could speak one language but we were invited to a beach house for this wonderous party and this is what she brought along. It is written on a wee scrap of paper.....

Cook 1 piece in water and salt (my notes in brackets)

1KG Lagarto - (she used filet, if I can get it at a reasonable price, so do I)

1 xic. Oleo

3 cebolas - (onion)

6 tomatoes

2 pimentoes - (green peppers)

1 xic azeitonas - (olives black spanish type)

3/4 xic vinagne

sal

pimenta

(Stew this together)...(marinate meat in this overnight)...(slice and serve with the marinade over it.)

Serve with feroffa...I use cous cous now.

Fried plantain and green salad

I think of you when I .........

mentally say this to myself....LOL! This is a woman here, not a man!
So I am determined to follow in your footsteps and so far I have lost 16LBS....I am terrified I will not keep it up. Another 40LBS at least to go.....Ohhhhh!

This little ditty is like a stuck record in my brain these days....I need another to replace it.

My husband keeps telling me the Mermaids Vital Statistics......."Thirty six, Twenty four and sixty pence a Pound!"
He keeps saying "'from a whale to a mermaid'...keep up the good work!"
I just hope I can hang in.

Sixteen pounds off is awesome!! Think of it as absolute proof that...

...your desire to lose more weight is definitely within reach!

Go Joanie! Go!

Congrats, Joanie, good for you. I too am down 16 pounds

from the past 5 weeks of weightloss efforts (hence my scarce appearance here at FK for a bit to avoid the many tempting recipes). Keep up the good work, you're doing great.

Thank you Dawn, and Cathy, it's actually been a LOT easier than I had thot. More to go but a

downward trend is a beautiful thing and transitioning to smaller sized clothing has been so rewarding and motivating. ;o)

Thanks all...I am really wanting to lose LOTS more, the groove has not hit yet...and I am still...

wearing the same clothes..
I want to buy a new wardrobe when we go to DD's BA of Architecture grad in June! Thing is, I still have lots of fairly nice wearables from way back when I was a decent size, darn.

I must talk outloud to myself about sticking to the straight and narrow, the family thinks I am wacky...sooo "36, 24, 60 pence a pound, never be a whale again" is becoming a 'thing' now with us all...

Buy, buy, buy!!! New clothes... even though you have stuff that fits from...

...days (and pounds) gone by.

If it will make you feel more resolved to see this thing through... then SPEND SPEND SPEND!!!

What is your continued health worth? What have you spent money on recently that didn't amount to diddley? Spend it on something that will truly profit you!

Then, when you lose more weight, donate the clothing to a shelter that could use it to help others.

Money well spent, if you ask me.

Michael

I was just about to say the same thing. Buy new stuff!

Every single stitch of clothing (except one special skirt) was whooshed away to a thrift shop from my closet. That skirt was my benchmark- I got married in it and I knew when I could zip it up, my dieting was DONE. Everything else went and I got all new stuff as I lost weight. I didn't buy expensive clothes along the way but I bought NEW stuff and it was a wonderful incentive for me to keep going. Especially jeans- I must have gone through 8 sizes of jeans along the way.

Do as Michael suggests- go get something fun and new for the slimmer you right now.

WoW, you ahve done well with the diet....

I just dont want to buy yet as I only leave in July and I want to buy in the UK and in the States....Stuff here, apart from being expensive, is so touristy that I look forward to shopping when I travel.
I will go and buy a new handbag and some perfume but I also need a new garden fork and peatmoss, lattice for the beans, machete and OH well, you see for the time being my priorities are not on myself.......I am so eagerly awaiting this upcoming trip.......!
