the destruction in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I don't keep up with the news enough...

Just horrible! Please check in and any others in harm's way!

I got very lucky. The cells that produced the Lancaster & Forney

tornados came right over me. I was at home and taking a nap. My dad called me and told me I'd better turn the t.v. on and be ready to get in a closet. Funnels from those two cells were spotted several places within a mile or two of my house but didn't touch down. One of the few times in the twenty years I've lived there that I have been really nervous. A couple of people I work with live in some of the bad areas - Arlington where another touched down and Coppell where they got baseball sized hail, but I haven't talked to them yet to see if they got any damage.

Dear friends here in Phoenix have a son, dil, and two grandkids who live very close...

...to where the damage happened. They were taking cover in their house and heard the freight train coming through! They escaped with little or no damage and no injuries, thank God.

I know. Certain times of the year are scary. North Texas is unique

in that we are juxtaposed for the cold fronts coming down out of Colorado clashing with warm Gulf moisture.

Did y'all see the interview of the owner of the house the 18 wheeler fell on?

What a wonderful sense of humor. And what a miracle that there were so few casualties!!

I think when an 18-wheeler falls on your house, all you can do is laugh...and say "why me?!"
