on Michael's Kindess

You are as kind as ever I see Michael. It was just pure happenstance that I should find you this morning.

I have been through a great deal over the past few years. Cancer, hurricanes, the dissolution of a longtime domestic partnership and then finally leaving Louisiana for good. It has been a long journey. We don't come out of these thing unscathed, but the once constant in my life has been food, its preparartion and its history. And what better place to rekindle the human spirit than right here amongst people who share that passion. Thanks for all your kind postings. I look forward to a fairly calm and tasty future.

Peace,

Bubba

Bubba!! So happy you're back! Michael and I did searches of NO sites trying to find you!

I even emailed several people (describing you and your dog) in hopes we'd get you back.
Looking forward to more great recipes!

Hey there, Bubba!

With the changes over on "the old board", I thought we might not get to "see" you again! What a great surprise.

For those here who may not know you, they're in for a treat. Your recipes and adventurous palate are quite a gift!

Michael

Beauregard

Yes, Beauregard was his name. If I handled the various stresses in my life poorly, my dear "Gardy" fared even worse. With me hospitalized for a while and then being uprooted during and after Katrina things didn't go well for my porr little baby. He was eventually so ill that he simply died in his sleep one night. Just one more thing to add to a series of very tragic events. But thank you for asking.

good to hear from you Bubba. I make your Tzatziki a lot this summer to serve with our salmon.

the recipe is up in the T&T section here. If you have some time to review the recipes there, you will find many of the old favorites from Gail's.

Mrs. Constantinopolous will be thrilled.........

Well I am sure my former neighbor Mrs. Constantinopolous will be thrilled to hear that. I always keep a bottle of it in the fridge. I put it on everything. It is especially good as a marinade for chicken, but not overnight, only for about three hours.

Thanks

Peace,
Bubba

WSelcome to FK Bubba! You have been missed! I made your gumbo rec: reposted by Dawn

Was enjoyed by all. (Although I have to admit that I still am not a fan of okra!)
We loved the recipe.

I look forward to your thoughts/rec on carribean foods. Rice and Beans? Plantanos? Tostones?

Great to see you here.

Warm welcome!

Regards,
Barb

Much Thanks!

Well I am as pleased as punch about that. 'Tis true that okra isn't for everyone, but the more you eat it the less you mind it.

Seems I am very much indebted to Dawn for keeping me on everyone's minds.

Thanks and Peace,
Bubba

Michael, Dawn and others mentioned your rec's many times..... SO>>> Rec: w/ Chicharones? Mango?

I look forward to your thoughts! I have good friends that went to New Orleans to help with Katrina efforts. They were apart of Habitat for humanity. So sorry what your community went through.

I look forward to your your new adventures in Miami Beach cooking!

Regards,
Barb
